Andy Dorman signs...

Rovers have today confirmed the loan capture of 29 year old central midfielder Andy Dorman from Crystal Palace until January 2nd. He has been granted permission to play for us in the FA Cup clash with Corby on Saturday and I must admit, I'm really rather pleased.

Not only because he provides cover for the injued Matt Gill, Stuart Campbell and Oliver Norburn, but because he is a genuinely quality player who can score goals and add a touch of creativity to our midfield. The fact Palace have allowed him to play in the FA Cup would suggest he won't be used much if at all there this season, so the loan deal may be with a view to a permanent deal in January.

He joined Palace from St. Mirren in Summer 2010 on a 3 year contract. He chose the Eagles ahead of almost every other club in the Championship and all the top League One sides after his goalscoring performances for Saints. He didn't have the best of times last season and failed to earn a regular spot in the starting XI, but this could be a new beginning in English football for Dorman who had previously plied his trade in the MLS with New England Revolution.

Good luck Andy, I hope you enjoy a long and successful stay with Rovers.
