The Alex Crewe...

Crewe Alexandra are the visitors to The Mem this afternoon and will be hoping, I'm sure, to inflict yet another defeat on our demoralised side. They've been very inconsistent throughout the season so far and sit in 15th place in League Two, yet the Alex fans believe that under new gaffer Steve Davis a push for the top half is more than possible. Their prestigious academy has been blossoming yet again this year with a number of scouted young talent coming through the ranks - Nick Powell and Max Clayton among the teenage sensations this season. It's going to be a difficult game as they all are at this level, but a win is a must for Buckle today - anything less and he's a goner surely? He can't go defensive when his job depends on a result today. Having said that it wouldn't surprise me if he did, nothing surprises me when it comes to his tactical naivety.

The good news for the few Gasheads who will be present at the game today is that Muzzy Carayol is back from suspension and should start on the wing. He seems like the only player with the spark and flair to change a game in our favour so Bucks will be hoping he can produce something special today. Someone who will be intent on stopping him from scoring or creating goals will be Crewe goalkeeper and former Rovers favourite Steve Phillips. The Bristolian shot-stopper was 'Bristol's Number 1' in our promotion season of 2006-2007 after keeping an incredibly 28 clean sheets - a feat I believe hasn't been beaten since (although I could be wrong). I'll give him a good reception on his Rovers return and hopefully other Gasheads will too. I wouldn't put it past him to keep a clean sheet today...

I'm not really sure what to say or predict for this afternoon. I always want Rovers to win, but I no longer want clueless Buckle in charge of the football club - not just because of the shocking results but because of the arrogance that has alienated our fan-base. What a sorry state of affairs.

Come on Rovers.
