Matt Lund Joins On Loan

This afternoon Rovers have signed Stoke City midfielder Matthew Lund on an initial one-month loan deal. Gaffer Mark McGhee seems pleased with the deal and says that Stoke want to offer us some 'support', the player wants 'to play games' and it provides us with a chance to 'take a closer look at him'. Whether this suggests potential for a season loan deal next year, or even a permanent transfer, I'm not sure, but it seems a good signing.

I recall when he moved to the Potteries from Crewe Alexandra's prestigious academy in 2009 and he was certainly highly rated at the time, so fingers crossed he can flourish whilst with us.
