Fixture List Out

The football-league have announced the fixtures for the 2012-13 season and Bristol Rovers have been handed a home start against rivals Oxford United on August 18.

Other notable dates are an away trip to Aldershot Town on Boxing Day, Plymouth Argyle at home on New Years Day and Torquay United away on the final day.

We play our first ever game with newly promoted Fleetwood Town at home on September 22 with the return fixture taking place on January 12. We also play new-boys York City on December 15 at KitKat Crescent before taking them on at the Mem on March 30.

Our away trip to Plymouth comes on September 18 whilst our home game against Torquay comes on October 20. Our Cheltenham Town fixtures are on October 2 (H) and December 29 (A) and our Exeter City ties come on September 29 (A) and January 19 (H).

Our first trip to Rotherham United's New York stadium takes place on January 26 and we visit Chesterfield's B2Net stadium on March 9.

A glance at the fixture list in full shows a number of midweek games this season as the 46 games are crammed in from mid-August to the end of April. Rovers are NOT currently scheduled to play away from home for two Saturdays in a row but do face consecutive away trips on some Saturday-Tuesdays.

All in all it's not a bad schedule for the Gas with a home game to start the campaign and a West Country derby at Plainmoor on the final day, hopefully celebrating a promotion party!
