The next round of League Two matches are upon us and tomorrow we take on top of the table Gillingham at Priestfield. The Gills are unbeaten in the league so far and have looked impressive in their performances under manager Martin Allen. New recruit Myles Weston has been one of the stars of the show for the Kent club so far and alongside fellow offensive players Chris Whelpdale, Deon Burton and Danny Kedwell, he'll be hoping to continue his rich vein of form.
Our last trip there was a 4-1 mauling in December last year when the only positive we could take from it was Mustapha Carayol's goal at 2-0 down. We last faced them towards the end of last season at the Mem when we played out an entertaining 2-2 draw. We lead 2-1 courtesy of goals from Eliot Richards and Mustapha Carayol, but a late Dennis Oli header meant that the spoils were shared. Whilst I'm sure most of the football league will be expecting a home win by 5pm tomorrow evening, Rovers certainly aren't travelling expecting to come home empty handed.

Virgo is likely to return to centre back tomorrow |
Mark McGhee has informed the media that if he can make the right team selection that he feels we can take all 3 points from the game and earn our first victory of the season. Cian Bolger is out following the injury he sustained last weekend against Aldershot, forcing McGhee to reshuffle his back four once again. Adam Virgo is likely to partner Tom Parkes in the centre, with Michael Smith taking up right back and Jim Paterson retaining the left back berth. The midfield quartet is likely to remain unchanged and our strikeforce will once again consist of Matt Harrold and David Clarkson. Despite his equalising goal last Saturday, Fabian Broghammer will start on the bench with the brief of coming on and making a nuisance of himself in the second half.
Many Gasheads fail to see beyond a comfortable Gillingham win following their unbeaten start to the season... and I can't blame them. However, I just have a feeling that tomorrow can be where our fortunes change for the better. A win against the Gills will certainly act as a launchpad to our campaign and send us in to a West Country clash with Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday very optimistically. Don't put money on it, but I can sense a 2-1 win coming. Adam Virgo (yes, Virgo!) and Clarkson to score the important goals!
Up the Gas!
