JPT Round 1 Day

Tonight Rovers return to action as they face West Country rivals Yeovil Town at the Memorial stadium, kick-off 7.45pm.

Cian Bolger will start against Yeovil tonight
Manager Mark McGhee has expressed his frustration at the way his side capitulated on 10 second half minutes last Saturday and will demand better tonight. Despite the 'catastrophic' and 'ridiculous' defending on show against Morecambe he will refrain from making too many changes to his starting line-up as he feels it's his duty to field his strongest 11 in every game. The one change that will certainly be made is that of Cian Bolger coming in to the back four, but who he will replace remains to be seen. Adam Virgo endured a torrid game and seems the most likely candidate to drop out, however a change in formation may be deployed and a different player may make way for Bolger's inclusion.

There have been calls from some Gasheads to tinker with our front pairing and see how we would fare without Matt Harrold leading the line. My belief is that it would prevent long balls forward and the team would keep the ball on the ground and look for short passes. I think this would play to the strengths of our players more so than feeding off of Harrold flick-ons. I'd be inclined to start Eliot Richards and David Clarkson up top against the Glovers but I feel McGhee will stick with the height and presence of Harrold.

It'll be an intriguing match up between two sides who played out a 1-1 draw in a pre-season friendly at Huish Park over the summer. Yeovil currently lie joint top of League One whilst Rovers occupy 23rd position in League Two. Mark McGhee will be wanting to out-fox Gary Johnson and give his side the belief that they can go out and win games. There's no better place to start than in the JPT.

A match preview from a Yeovil Town fan will appear shortly.

Up the Gas.
