Former Director Banned From Attending Rovers Games

Former Bristol Rovers director Kevin Spencer, who left the the club in 2006 following ructions within the board, was told on Saturday that he was banned from attending future Rovers games. Spencer made an attempt to take over the club alongside Mike Turl and Colin Williams 6 years ago but the bid was rejected and he left his position. There were many reasons cited by the trio as to why the club needed new direction at the time and, arguably, many remain as relevant today. Only Spencer has been banned from matches - Turl and Williams still watch the club regularly from the executive boxes. The club stated last night that it was 'continued' criticism of the board of directors that led to the unanimous vote to ban him from future Rovers games.

Many supporters have made their feelings known on forums, with some suggesting a boycott as a sign of support to Spencer. I'm sure there will be more to this story over the coming days and it just smacks of absolute typicality that it comes on the back of our first home win of the season.

Regardless of your stance on this it doesn't reflect well on Bristol Rovers that we have begun banning supporters who have not broken the law in any way.
