Tom Curtis Appointed Director Of Youth

Bristol Rovers this morning announced that Tom Curtis has been appointed as the club's new Director of Youth and will oversee the coaching of players from the age of 8 through to 18. He has recently left his previous job as the Technical Director and Head Coach of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association where he has helped to stabilise and improve their set-up. With the job came the responsibility of managing Antigua's sole professional team Antigua Barracuda, which he did from early 2011.

Whether he applied for the role or Rovers approached him remains to be seen but certainly it appears a very good move for both parties. Fresh from international experience, Curtis can implement everything he has learnt and apply it to the day-to-day running of the Rovers Centre of Excellence. This opportunity allows Curtis to return close to where he was born (Exeter) and set up home for the next few years at an established club.

Since Ken Oram left the club a couple of months ago, the position has not been occupied, so the club are understandably delighted to have filled the vacancy with an outstanding candidate like Tom.

Welcome to Bristol Rovers and best of luck.
