With a week left to go until the 2013-2014 Football League season kicks off the transfer market is hotting up as managers look to complete their squads. Players across the country are finally deciding where they want to be playing their football for the next 9 months and some very interesting signings are being made in League Two.

Rochdale have been busy again as Keith Hill looks to add the finishing touches to the rebuilding he has instigated since returning to the club earlier this year. Young Jack O'Connell arrived on loan from Blackburn Rovers on Monday before deals for defender Javan Vidal and goalkeeper Robbie Thomson were completed in the last couple of days. Oxford United have worked hard to bring back ex-loanee Johnny Mullins from Rotherham United for an undisclosed fee on a 3 year contract. The centre half formed a good partnership with Jake Wright during a spell with the U's midway through last season and Chris Wilder has negotiated a deal with Steve Evans to sign him permanently. Rhys Murphy has landed at Dagenham & Redbridge after a period with Dutch club Telstar and will be looking to establish himself in England after coming up through the youth ranks at Arsenal.

Wycombe Wanderers and Scunthorpe United sealed deals for strikers as Scot Steve Craig joined the Chairboys and Deon Burton linked up with the Iron. Big spending Fleetwood Town paid a fee for Southend United defender Ryan Cresswell who informed the club he wanted a move up north. He had, according to reports, turned down Fleetwood earlier this summer but looks to have changed his mind with the season beginning next Saturday. Kevin Blackwell's new-look Bury side have been boosted by the additions of winger Aidan Chippendale and unknown Rwandan forward Jessy Reindorf from Union Royale Namur. 

Accrington Stanley have moved for Josh Windass, son of Dean, in a bid to bolster their strikeforce ahead of the new campaign. James Beattie has also signed former Sheffield United team mate Danny Webber, perhaps to partner Francis Jeffers. Chesterfield have brought in Ryan Edwards on loan from Blackburn Rovers while Northampton Town signed Gary Deegan following his departure from Coventry City and JJ Hooper who left Newcastle United. 

Portsmouth pulled off a big signing with the capture of ex-Swindon Town playmaker Simon Ferry. Manager Guy Whittingham was understandably delighted to get the Scot on board as he adds undeniable quality to their small squad. The other big transfer of the week came at our very own Bristol Rovers as they finally signed midfielder John-Joe O'Toole from League One side Colchester United, bringing to a close a 12 week transfer pursuit. He expressed a desire to stay in League One at the end of his loan spell with us in April but John Ward has persuaded the talismanic Irishman to sign a long-term contract with us and hope he will spearhead a charge to the top of the division.
