Elsewhere In League Two... (10)

With the new season kicking off tomorrow some managers have been frantically working to improve their squads before their opening game.

Scunthorpe United have signed forward Sam Winnall following his release by Wolverhampton Wanderers and could well line up alongside Chris Iwelumo tomorrow. Brian Laws also drafted in Jordan Clark on loan from Barnsley for the month of August, presumably with a view to extending it until the new year should things go well. Plymouth Argyle are another side that have recruited in the past 7 days with full-back Andre Blackman signing for the Home Park club from Celtic on a free transfer. Another full-back, ex-Exeter City right back Kevin Amankwaah, has joined Northampton Town on a 1 year deal. The Cobblers have also offered non-contract terms to experienced defender Matt Heath and have opted to bring in Danny Emerton following his release from Hull City.

AFC Wimbledon have swooped for Charlton Athletic striker Michael Smith on loan to provide a goal threat alongside their current star striker Jack Midson. Oxford United have brought in youngster Josh Ruffels after the midfielder departed Coventry City, who are now in liquidation. He will move into their development squad as opposed to their first team though. Non-league striker Nialle Rodney has penned a deal with Hartlepool United after a trial spell, as has Christian Burgess on loan from Middlesbrough, while defender Krystian Pearce linked up with Alan Knill at Torquay United. Knill also made striker Karl Hawley a Gull this week on a permanent basis and Calum Ball has signed on loan from Derby County.

The biggest move of the week saw Chesterfield bring in a former Premier League centre half. Ian Evatt, formerly of Blackpool, has joined the Spireites after passing a stringent medical - something that was required after a number of serious injuries. Bury continued to ramp up their number of summer recruits as Shaun Beeley, Marlon Jackson and Danny Mayor all completed switches to Gigg Lane. Beeley and Mayor arrive on loan deals while Jackson signed a permanent contract. Accrington Stanley, under the stewardship of James Beattie, have signed Michael Richardson on loan from Newcastle United and Piero Mingoia on a free transfer from Watford.

Southend United announced a triple swoop on Thursday with experienced defender Julian Bennett signing for the year alongside Craig Reid from Aldershot and Conor Clifford from Leicester City. All 3 players have moved to Roots Hall on free transfers. Cheltenham Town have drafted in Ryan Innis in loan from Ian Holloway's Crystal Palace, Morecambe have signed striker Padraig Amond, Exeter City have dipped into the non-league to bring in David Wheeler from Staines Town and Portsmouth have completed a move for defender Bondz N'Gala. Finally, newly-promoted Mansfield Town have signed Havant & Waterlooville forward Ollie Palmer for an undisclosed fee to replace Matt Green who left for Birmingham City earlier in the summer and Newport County completed a deal for Ryan Jackson. The full-back is under 23 and so compensation is owed by the South Wales club to Macclesfield Town.

  1. I love Michael Jordan performances in the final round. He gets so pumped up. I like his shoes choices also.
