Injured defender Danny Woodards has signed his new 1 year contract today as he continues his rehab for the cruciate ligament injury he sustained in April. The 2011-2012 player of the year had been offered the contract at the end of the season but due to his 'happy-go-lucky' nature, says John Ward, the signing process has taken a long time to complete!
Woodards had always maintained to his manager that he would sign a new contract but his focus has, as you would expect, been on getting over his injury. He is around halfway through his recovery period and is expected to be fully fit around Christmas.
Woodards retains the number 4 shirt for this season.
