Anyinsah Released

Joe Anyinsah has been released by Rovers after John Ward decided that he would not be offering the winger a new contract. Anyinsah joined in 2011 and made 64 appearances but struggled for consistency and full fitness for large parts of his 2 years at the Mem.

A converted striker, Anyinsah netted 9 goals for Rovers including 3 memorable strikes in three separate meetings with Rotherham United in the past couple of seasons. He's been given opportunities up front and on the right to stake a claim for a regular berth but a combination of inconsistency and troublesome hamstrings has hindered his progress.

He left Charlton Athletic the summer that he joined us but has failed to live up to expectations in truth.

It remains to be seen where he'll go next but I'd imagine that he may find a league club who are willing to take a punt on him considering his former potential.
