I didn't actually think I'd ever get the chance to write this article given the strong interest in the midfielder but I'm delighted that I am with the new season just 10 days away. O'Toole's signing comes at the perfect time to lift excitement levels following the spate of injuries we've sustained in the last week. Ollie Clarke has been the latest casualty but there was good news yesterday as Matt Gill returned to action after several months on the sidelines. He could prove to be O'Toole's partner on the opening day at Exeter City if boss John Ward deems him fit enough to start and it would ensure the spine of our team looks very strong.
O'Toole has been handed the number 32 shirt for the new season and is likely to play a large part of Sunday's final friendly with Reading at the Mem.
