Rovers' Constable Bid Rejected

A Bristol Rovers bid for Oxford United top scorer James Constable has been rejected this evening.

Oxford forward James Constable
The amount was not disclosed and it is not yet known whether Rovers will return with an improved offer. Speculation arose over the weekend from U's fans that we were interested in recruiting their hit-man but there were no official sources to support the claims until today. Sky Sports claimed a bid had been made but an hour later BBC Radio Oxford reported the bid had been rejected.

The offer goes to show that there appears to be money available for Mark McGhee to spend and if we are forced to sell Mustapha Carayol then his kitty will likely rise further. Other players that have been linked with moves to Rovers include Wycombe's Matt Bloomfield and Macclesfield's Ross Draper.

It's hotting up on the Rovers transfer front! More when it comes.
