Woodards SIGNED On For Next Season

Rovers player of the season Danny Woodards has tonight confirmed that the second year option on his contract has been activated and he will be donning the blue and white quarters next season.

This acts as a timely boost to maintain confidence levels and positivity among Gasheads ahead of next season, with transfer news at a premium so far. Woody showed his quality last year and having seen every team in action last season I would go as far as to say that he is the best full-back in this division, so keeping him with the club was pivotal. He suffered a horrific leg break on the final day at Dagenham, but he states on Twitter that he is recovering well and is on course to return for the start of the season. Phew.

So, alongside Jim Paterson, Eliot Richards and Ollie Clarke, Woodards becomes the latest player to commit his future to the club. We're now only waiting on Wayne Brown to respond to his short-term contract offer to have secured all the players on our retained list.

  2. I'm thrilled with this. Had a horrible nagging feeling that someone would come in for him, especially as we hadn't heard anything official from the club.

    Great news.
