Decision Day

Thursday July 19 has been the day every Gashead has been waiting for with baited breath for months, as it could signal the start of a brand new era at Bristol Rovers.

A year after hearing the plans to sell the Memorial stadium to Sainbury's and build a 21,700 seater arena on land situated near the University of the West of England, the club today discover if planning permission will be granted by South Gloucestershire council. It's only the first step, as planning permission is also needed from Bristol City council in regards to the redevelopment of the Mem site, but both are equally as important in giving Rovers the green light to evolve in to the club we all dream of.

The verdict will be published on here as soon as it has been decided this afternoon and, hopefully, we'll all be celebrating. If you wish to keep up to date with the meeting, the official Bristol Rovers Twitter feed will tell you what is happening as it happens. Search for @Official_BRFC and follow #UWEStadium for updates.

This is it Gasheads.
