UWE Stadium Approved

South Gloucestershire council have made a decision on Rovers plans for the 21,700 seater UWE stadium and have voted in favour of the build!

This is the news every Gashead wanted to hear and club officials will be understandably delighted with the verdict. Nick Higgs will be at the club's Fun Day (6pm-9pm) tonight and will be on hand to answer any questions and to celebrate alongside excited Rovers fans.

This could really happen now. The vision we've all had of Bristol Rovers since these plans were first announced is half-way to becoming a reality. All that stands in the way now is Bristol City council and planning permission being granted for Sainsbury's to redevelop the Memorial stadium site - a hearing that should take place in September.

Enjoy this as days like these don't come about very often! An anxious 2-month wait now prevails until we hear from BCC on the Sainbury's plan - I hope as many of you as possible wrote in favour of the application as it's one of the most important things we could do as Rovers fans.

Up the Gas!
