Bristol Rovers 2012-2013 Pre-Season Predictions

You may recall that back in late June I began a poll to ascertain the opinions of fellow Gasheads in to how they think we will fare next season. Back then we'd not made any signings and had little idea of what players would be lining up in the blue and white quarters come August when we played Ipswich Town. Predictions were based purely on gut-feelings and the amount of confidence we had in the club to deliver the promotion we all desperately crave before the UWE stadium is scheduled to open in 2 years time.

The poll received an overwhelming response from Rovers fans with 66 of you casting a vote. 63% thought a season that culminated in a play-off spot was most likely for Mark McGhee's charges whilst 15% thought top 3 was a realistic target. The results (seen in full below) were interesting and displayed a sense of positivity leading in to pre-season. However I knew at the time that things were inevitably going to change in the following weeks before we actually started the new campaign, so I wanted a revised edition of the same poll.

We've seen David Clarkson, Garry Kenneth, Rogvi Baldvinsson, Oliver Norburn and Seanan Clucas sign so far and with more to come in the next few days I'm intrigued to discover whether our new recruits have increased the optimism among supporters or whether confidence has tailed off. I've left it as late as possible to allow time for as many signings as possible to take place but with the season just a few days away I can delay no longer. The voting can now begin.

To the right of this page will be where the poll is situated and I call on all Gasheads to vote again and see if they've had their thoughts altered by the events that have taken place in the last 5/6 weeks. I'm sure it will be of interest to everyone to see whether the voting this time around is noticeably different to the previous results. It will gauge just how much progress we believe the club has made over the summer and whether promotion can be a genuine possibility this season. We've been unlucky with a few injuries and knocks recently but try not to let that blur your real thoughts on how we will do.

The 46 game marathon will bear many twists and turns but just 'Where Will Rovers Finish Next Season?'.
