Southend Away Switched To Saturday

The away game at Southend United has been switched from its original Friday evening slot on April 12th to Saturday April 13, just over 19 hours later. The fixture change comes as a result of both clubs having away games rearranged for earlier in that week. Rovers travel to Bradford on the Tuesday and Southend play Rochdale on the Wednesday, meaning that switching to Saturday gave both teams more time to prepare.

A few Gasheads were disappointed this was the case having booked train tickets for the Friday but it must be stressed that the original request to change the date came from Southend and was not Bristol Rovers' decision. The club complied with the home side's request as it does make sense for the team to have a longer recovery period after a long trip to Valley Parade a few days before.

The game will now kick off at 3pm on Saturday April 13.
