Ward Casts Eye Over Hutchison

Hutchison for Lincoln City
John Ward last week ran the rule over teenage Birmingham City defender Graham Hutchison with a view to making a move for him in the summer. He has not made a first-team appearance for the Blues since joining as a 15 year old for an undisclosed fee from Lincoln City but has been a regular in their reserve side this season. Hutchison went back to Sincil Bank on loan at the start of this campaign but it was cut short due to injury. He's unlikely to be offered a new deal by Lee Clark, who has allowed Ward to cast his eye over him at our Cribbs Causeway training base.

He impressed and is likely to be a target during the close-season and it stands us in good stead that we have shown an interest in him early. He is described as a strong, quick defender with good distribution. Of course, if he does join us, he won't be one of the main signings of the summer but it does show Ward's keenness to bring young footballers with talent in to the club.

Yate Town striker Scott Wilson, who also trained with us last week, has been invited back for a further period after impressing our coaching staff. The non-league hotshot has attracted interest from several Football League clubs in recent months but Rovers have stolen a march on them by inviting him to train with the current first team squad.

Their futures have not yet been decided but don't be surprised if you see them appear as new signings in the coming months.
