Elsewhere In League Two... (2)

League Two has not been awash with too much activity in the past 7 days but a few signings have been made, including an ex-Gas player linking up with the Cod Army. In amongst the transfer activity Northampton Town were involved in two of the week's biggest stories. Captain Clarke Carlisle announced his retirement and manager Aidy Boothroyd released talismanic striker Adebayo Akinfenwa following their play-off final defeat to Bradford City last weekend. Ahead of next season Colin Cooper was announced as Hartlepool United's new manager, Bury's chairman and board of directors resigned as their takeover edges towards completion and Scunthorpe United announced Peter Swann as their new chairman.

Hughes in action for Rovers - Lifted from: skysports.com
Fleetwood Town have been the busiest club this week having completed 3 signings, including the impressive capture of Notts County's Jeff Hughes. The former Rovers winger was offered a new contract at Meadow Lane and had alerted the attention of many top League One clubs after deciding to move on. He chose to join Fleetwood who are known to be very good payers for this division, which was clearly Hughes' motivation in this case. Graham Alexander's men also completed the signing of Bury's Steven Schumacher and Liam Hogan from FC Halifax Town to accompany last week's new recruit Matty Blair.

York City signed Hereford United's highly-rated striker Ryan Bowman, Oxford United snatched Jonathan Meades from under AFC Wimbledon's noses, Mansfield Town swooped for Paul Black and last week's big-hitters Portsmouth added to their recruitment by drafting in Andy Barcham from Scunthorpe.

As the weeks go by there will be a significant increase in signings across the division.

  1. Hey just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The words in your post seem to be running off the screen in Opera.
I'm not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with browser compatibility but I thought I'd post to let you know.
The design look great though! Hope you get the problem resolved soon.
    Many thanks
