Naylor Remains Goalkeeper Coach

Stuart Naylor, who was drafted in as short-term goalkeeper coach towards the end of last season, has been handed the role on a full-time basis. John Ward says he has a good relationship with Stuart and above all else trusts him. Their paths have crossed throughout their professional careers and that will undoubtedly have had a bearing on the original decision to bring him to Bristol Rovers.

The article on the Rovers website includes a quote from Ward that mentions: '... and we have an experienced keeper in Steve Mildenhall if he stays'. It could mean absolutely nothing but I doubt our manager would name drop Mildy unless he remained very confident he could seal his signing. It was announced yesterday that we were still in positive talks with SM and his representatives and hopefully this continues to suggest the deal is progressing. After all, Ward wouldn't waste his time on a lost cause... the same applies for John-Joe O'Toole too I'd say.

Welcome back Stuart and good luck.
