Elsewhere In League Two... (3)

With the Bank Holiday at the beginning of this week movement in the transfer market never really got going. Having said that a few deals were struck that will have caught the eye of fans around League Two, including the one Rovers completed. It was also a productive week for a number of non-league players who have been given the chance to make the step up to the Football League by the likes of Mansfield Town.

AFC Wimbledon have completed their first pieces of summer recruitment landing Barry Fuller from relegated Barnet and Chris Arthur from non-league Havant & Waterlooville. Mansfield have drafted in former Yeovil Town midfielder Keiran Murtagh from Macclesfield Town on a free transfer. The Stags are also believed to be close to adding an experienced defender to their ranks too but at the close of play on Friday they had not announced any further deals. Scunthorpe United have made their first addition by drafting in former left back Andy Dawson from Hull City. The experienced defender made 7 appearances for the Tigers in their promotion to the Premier League this year having left the Iron for Hull a decade ago.

Paul Cook's Chesterfield have made their second signing with the ambitious swoop for SPL striker Eoin Doyle from Hibernian. The 25 year old made the move to Hibs from Irish side Sligo Rovers in 2011 after netting 29 goals in 84 appearances. He's averaged less than a goal every 4 games since the switch to Scotland but standing at 6ft he boasts agility as well as power in the air and Chesterfield have done well to steal his signature. As we know, however, strikers from the SPL are not necessarily good enough to make an impact in the fourth tier - Derek Riordan failed to score in any of his matches for Rovers before Christmas despite prompting a lot of excitement when he first signed.

Rovers made their first move of the summer by finally completing a deal to bring back loan star Steve Mildenhall from Millwall. The 35 year old goalkeeper was in inspired form after joining on New Year's Eve and helped provide stability to our previously porous defence. The experienced shot-stopper has signed a 2 year deal with the option of a third if he makes a certain number of appearances.

Aside from these deals no others went through this week. With June now just hours away we can expect plenty more movement at each of the 24 league clubs over the next few weeks. Pre-season begins for many towards the end of the month with Rovers returning as early as the 20th. Players, mangers, chairmen and agents will be returning from their holidays as that date approaches and they'll be keen to sort things as soon as possible, you can be sure of that.

quite a few of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling problems and I to
find it very bothersome to inform the reality nevertheless I'll certainly come back again.
