Mildenhall Signs Permanent Contract

Lifted from: bristolrovers.co.uk
Loan hero Steve Mildenhall has finally signed a contract with Bristol Rovers to keep him with the club for at least 2 years. The goalkeeper became a fans favourite during his loan spell last season and showed all his experience and quality to help us out of the mess we were in over the new year. The club have been negotiating with him for a long time and it has eventually led to him signing a 2 year contract with the option of a third if he triggers an appearance clause.

Mildenhall had been told he would not be offered a new deal with Championship side Millwall and was likely to have attracted interest from many League One clubs, including some from the West Country. With fierce competition for his signature it's understandable that it took a while to complete but Gasheads finally have their first piece of transfer activity of the summer and it's fair to say it hasn't disappointed. With Mildenhall now in place our back 5 looks very good and means that John Ward now only has to focus on strengthening his midfield and, potentially, bringing in one further striker.

The club continue to talk to John-Joe O'Toole but as yet there is no further news on how things are progressing.
