Norburn Signs Extension

Lifted from: itv.com
Midfielder Oli Norburn has today signed a 1 year contract extension with Rovers to keep him at the club until next summer. He was believed to have verbally agreed a new deal a few weeks ago and despite taking time to officially complete the signing, he has now put pen to paper.

There was reported interest from Championship side Huddersfield Town in the young central midfielder but he has been quick to state that his intention has always been to stay with the Gas:

"I am delighted. I am happy here and I want to kick on with this club and hopefully do well next season. The gaffer has given me a chance and hopefully I can take it this season."

It bodes well ahead of the strenuous pre-season work that began today at the club's Cribbs Causeway training base. Norburn's comments echo those of Tom Parkes from last week, who did not hide away from the fact he wants to achieve promotion in 2013-2014.

Norburn joins Fabian Broghammer, Seanan Clucas, Ellis Harrison,
Jordan Goddard, Matt Harrold, Mark McChrystal and Michael Smith in signing new deals over the past couple of months.
