Rovers completed the surprising signing of Chelsea youngster Sam Walker on loan until January yesterday morning, finally solving the goalkeeping crisis we've experienced this summer.

Speculation over recent days, buoyed by Mark McGhee's revelation that he wanted him to sign, suggested that Paul Smith would be our new goalkeeper. It appears contract terms could not be agreed with the former Nottingham Forest custodian and interest immediately turned to Chelsea star Sam Walker. He has recently enjoyed loan spells at Yeovil Town and Northampton Town and agreed to join us on Tuesday night with the prospect of playing against Ipswich last night.
He will remain with the club until January at least which will be a good time to assess the situation and make a decision on his future.
Welcome to Bristol Rovers Sam!
