It's been confirmed today that Stoke City midfielder Matt Lund has completed his 6-month loan deal with Rovers and will be in the squad for Saturday's pre-season game against Yeovil Town.
It will come as no surprise to Gasheads that this deal has been finalised as it's been in the pipeline for a long while and the player himself has trained with the squad throughout the whole of pre-season. He suffered a slight scare when he was sent for a scan on an achilles knock but the results came back all clear and he was free to resume training.
Mark McGhee is a big admirer of the Stoke midfield player and made it clear from the start of the summer that he wanted to bring Lund back to the Memorial stadium. He'll have a big part to play in the first half of the season and I'm sure it's hoped by all concerned that he impresses enough to earn an extended loan to see out the entire campaign.
